Muffin's Fund... helping Abigail  Do you know the way from San Jose? Abigail, a 12-year-old American Curl cat, was found abandoned near a San Jose, CA expressway. This senior kitty needed rescue, but how do we get her from San Jose to NYC? With
a lot of help from compassionate people. Obviously once someone’s pet, Abigail was lonely, confused, frightened, and sick. With the San Jose Animal Shelter assisting with preparations on the west coast, we made arrangements to
have Abigail transported to us via “kitty-class” on-board an airline -- thanks to a wonderful lady we cannot thank
enough -- who flew cross-country to pick her up and bring her back! She was Abigail’s
‘Karmic-Angel.’ Abigail, Coast-to-Coast Curl When Abigail arrived in NYC, she was extremely thin, suffering from an, as yet, unknown medical
issue, but she was finally here! She was fully vetted the next day and blood
work confirmed several issues. But
the most immediate crisis is her unresolved digestive issues; Abigail’s body is unable to absorb any food or nutrients,
which could put her life in danger. We are not sure at this point if it is IBD
or something more serious. We have her on a prescription diet, medication, and
she is currently back in the vet’s office under their supervised care to try to get her system under control. The vet bills are mounting; tests required are very expensive, and we need your help once again to make sure we can do all that is possible to bring Abigail back to health and provide for her lifelong care. We thank you -- and Abigail thanks you!  A kitty with lots of love to give and a will to live Abigail hasn’t completely lost that feeling of abandonment, and it breaks our hearts to see her like this. But we also see an Abigail who loves generously, likes to be around people, and has the will to live. Together, with your help, we can make sure that Abigail knows the safety and security of a home once again – along with a long life and all the love – and TTouch -- we can give her. Once it is determined that she is healthy and able, we’ll see if the right forever home is out there for her; but, if that doesn’t work out, not to worry! She has a home for life within Tavi & Friends' Foster Sanctuary program.
